With a technical background in law, I bring a unique perspective to overseeing and implementing Hurley Wealth's securities law compliance procedures. I obtained my Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2000. My early career focused on estate planning, where I assisted clients with creating estate plans and navigating trust administration. I later transitioned into litigation, gaining valuable experience defending insureds against claims for personal injury and legal malpractice. I left the practice of law and joined Hurley Wealth in 2006, eventually taking on the role of Chief Compliance Officer in 2015. While I remain inactive with the California Bar, and have been since 2009, I am now licensed in Florida and maintain a separate, private estate planning law practice.

A little bit more about me:

Why I do what I do:

My dad instilled in me the idea of doing things, especially your work, excellently, and to seek to help others succeed. I never dreamed of being in the financial services industry, but I am grateful everyday for the opportunity to help others have peace and freedom around their finances.

What I enjoy outside of my career:

I dabble in painting just for fun and to create art for our home. Since we moved to Florida, I have been learning to smoke roast meat. I really enjoy the process of seasoning the meat, going slow and working with the fire to get that great smoky flavor. It’s a joy to watch friends and family feast on something you have labored over.

My dream vacation:

A dude ranch vacation in Wyoming with extended family, with a spectacular view of the Grand Tetons. There would be lots of horse back riding, camp fires, swimming and afternoon naps!
